Brian Applebee

Director of Personal Lines, AIG

Brian Applebee is the Casualty Claims Director of AIG Private Client Group in the United States and Canada, a division that specializes in property and casualty insurance solutions for high net worth individuals and families.

Brian joined AIG Private Client Group in 2002 and has held various roles with increasing responsibility throughout his tenure.  This includes roles in the field and Home Office.  Brian continues to be active in high exposure and high profile claims.  Furthermore, he regularly attends mediations and trials. 

Previously, Brian spent his career in a multitude of Casualty claim roles in the Property Casualty industry working in both the Personal and Commercial industry.

 Brian graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, NY and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Christopher Arehart

Senior Vice President & Product Manager of Crime & Kidnap/Ransom, Chubb

Christopher Arehart is senior vice president and product manager of crime, financial fidelity, kidnap/ransom and extortion, mail and workplace violence expense insurance for the North America Financial Lines division of Chubb Ltd. based in Chicago, Illinois. He was appointed to his current role in 2016.

Chris has nineteen years of experience underwriting executive liability risks for Chubb including directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability, as well as crime, kidnap/ransom and extortion and workplace violence expense insurance. He joined the company in 2000 as an executive liability underwriting trainee and most recently served as global product manager for crime and kidnap insurance with the predecessor company. Prior to joining Chubb, Chris served with the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles, California.

Chris has been quoted in numerous articles that have appeared in industry publications such as Canadian Lawyer Magazine, Business Insider and Risk & Insurance Magazine on the topic of kidnap and ransom and crime insurance. He has been interviewed and appeared on NPR’s All Things Considered and is a frequent speaker on the topic of cyber-crime. He has also been a speaker for the Casualty Actuarial Society, as well as an annual presenter at PLUS University, an insurance industry training seminar dedicated to educating those beginning their careers. Chris has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Music and Business from Whittier College in Whittier, California.

Barbara Chamberlain

Director of Art Collection Management, AIG

Barbara is Director of Art Collection Management at AIG Private Client Group. She came to AIG in 2008 with 11 years of collections management experience in retail, corporate and public art. Barbara began her career at a contemporary art gallery in New York City after which she was assistant curator of The FORBES Magazine Collection. Before coming to AIG, Barbara was registrar at the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala, Florida. Today, based in South Florida, Barbara provides collection management, loss prevention and risk management services, disaster mitigation, and collections claims assistance for private collections policyholders in the Central and Southeastern U.S. and Eastern Canada. She is also Chairman of the Professional Advisory Committee of the Boca Museum of Art and on the Executive Board of the Friends of the Uffizi Gallery. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history and psychology from Smith College and Master of Arts degree in museum studies from Johns Hopkins University where she is now an adjunct professor teaching the first course in Private Collectors, Collections and Museums.

Luis Cuadrado

Principal - Music & Entertainment, Integro

Luis brings over 20 years of experience in the Commercial Insurance area, specializing in all facets of Entertainment and Business insurance.   As Principal, Luis and his team have worked closely with business managers, accountants, attorneys and other advisors to effectively protect the assets and liabilities of a wide array of business.

 Luis began his career in 1995 at American Business Insurance and has then gone on to work at two large brokerage firms before becoming one of the founding members of Robertson Taylor’s Los Angeles operations in 2002.  Luis is a member of Fireman’s Fund Broker Council and has worked with various charities such as the Arthritis Foundation.   Luis’ expertise and knowledge, along with the relationships he has forged in the Insurance community has been a vital component to his success as a premier insurance brokerage firm in Los Angeles and to his own personal growth.

 Luis lives in Ventura County, CA with his wife Susan and their two girls, Rowan & Kate.  He is an avid cyclist, backpack/trail runner and self-confessed insurance geek.

Chris Hatt

Executive Vice President — Private Client Solutions, MarketScout

Chris Hatt is the executive vice president of MarketScout’s Private Client Solutions Division. Mr. Hatt has over 30 years of underwriting and broking experience in the London and Lloyd’s market. Prior to joining MarketScout, Mr. Hatt worked at Shepherd Compello as a director, building and expanding the binding facility business in North America. Previously, Mr. Hatt was the CEO of Decus Insurance Brokers Limited, where he was responsible for the production and placement of US binding authorities and in-house underwriting capability for Lloyd’s facilities.

Alex Horowitz

Alex Horowitz is the VP, National Marketing Director for AIG Private Client Group in the United States, a division that specializes in property and casualty insurance solutions for high net worth individuals and families. As the national marketing director, Alex is responsible for sourcing new strategic partnerships with wealth advisors, accountants, legal advisors and luxury brands that share a similar client base and outlook on customer experience.

 Prior to joining AIG, Alex began his insurance career in 2003 as an independent agent advising clients on their needs for: Group Insurance Products. Life Insurance, Long Term Care, Long Term Disability, Group Retirement Planning, Medicare Solutions and Personal P&C insurance. Alex joined AIG in 2012 and has held various sales and marketing roles throughout his tenure. Prior to his current role, he served as the AIG business development manager for the NYC territory for three years overseeing profitability and growth in one of the largest territories in the country.

Jerry Hourihan

Jerry Hourihan is the President of AIG Private Client Group in the United States and Canada, a division that specializes in property and casualty insurance solutions for high net worth individuals and families. Jerry joined AIG in 2002 and has held roles with increasing responsibility throughout his tenure. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for AIG Personal Lines in the US and Canada, with oversight of sales and marketing efforts, distribution management, and field operations across several personal lines insurance segments. Previously, Jerry spent sixteen years with Chubb in a number of management positions including Senior Vice President, Co-European Zone Manager including responsibility for the Asia/Pacific and Latin American personal lines businesses. Jerry graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics.

Richard Kerr

Chief Executive Officer, MarketScout Corporation

Richard Kerr is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MarketScout Corporation, a Dallas, Texas-based MGA and electronic insurance exchange that presents pre-qualified Certified Market Specialists℠ to its 40,000- member agency network across the United States. Mr. Kerr is Chairman of MSW (MarketScout Wholesale), Founder of the Entrepreneurial Insurance Alliance (EIA), Founder of the Council for Insuring Private Clients (CIPC), and Founder of MarketScout InsurTech Ventures (MIT).
He previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lambert Fenchurch US Holdings, Chairman of Sedgwick Energy, President of Sedgwick James of Texas, and was a partner with Arthur L. Owen insurance. Richard has an extensive background in launching new ventures and entrepreneurial concepts in all facets of insurance underwriting and distribution. He is a sought-after keynote speaker and lecturer on industry economic trends, pricing, distribution, and underwriting concepts. Richard participates in various forums during the year. As an author, he has written two technical insurance publications, as well as articles for over 20 different insurance publications. Richard is an Executive Council member of the Risk Management & Insurance Executive Council Advisory Board of the Florida State University College of Business and serves as a board member for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He founded the Kerr Educational Trust and HEROES, a support organization for soldiers returning from active duty. Richard holds a Business degree in insurance and risk management from the University of Texas in Austin.

John Kraska

President, Dowling Hales

John is President of Dowling Hales. He joined Hales & Company in 2001 and led the management buyout of the firm from Arch Capital Group, Ltd. in 2004. As a Managing Partner of the firm, he oversaw the firm’s growth both internally and through acquisition, culminating in a sale to a private investor group and the formation of Dowling Hales, an affiliate of Dowling & Partners. John has nearly 20 years of experience as an investor and advisor in the insurance industry, completing over 100 transactions throughout his career. He began his career as an actuary at Aetna and Equitable Cos. (now AXA). He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School with degrees in Mathematics and Economics. John is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63) and a Limited Representative - Investment Banking (Series 79). John is a General Securities Principal (Series 24) and he is a FINRA Operations Principal (Series 99).


Teresa Leigh

Teresa Leigh is a celebrated author and speaker with over 30 years of experience working in and managing multiple high net worth homes and ranch properties across the United States. Jeremy Lurey

Kathryn Norris

Stephen Poux

Senior Vice President, Global Head of Risk Management Services & Loss Prevention, AIG  

Stephen G. Poux is Senior Vice President, Global Head of Risk Management Services and Loss Prevention, for AIG Private Client Group, a division of the member companies of American International Group, Inc. (AIG).  Steve oversees a team of approximately 75 seasoned risk management specialists who help high net worth individuals and families maximize safety and proactively reduce the likelihood of suffering a loss. 

Steve has over 30 years of property casualty insurance experience.  He joined AIG in 2000 as one of the founding members of AIG Private Client Group and was instrumental in building client-centric business practices that remain in use today.  In 2004, Steve was the principal architect of AIG Private Client Group’s Department of Loss Prevention, which was the first practice of its kind within the high net worth personal lines industry.  As Director of Loss Prevention, he was responsible for launching other industry firsts, including AIG’s Wildfire and Hurricane Protection Units.  Throughout his tenure he has appeared on CNBC and been featured in publications such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

In 2007, Steve took on the General Manager role for AIG Private Client Group’s New York City/Long Island Region.  

Prior to joining AIG, Steve spent over 10 years with Fireman’s Fund and Chubb, gaining valuable experience in the affluent and high net worth personal insurance segments.  He has a BS in applied mathematics, statistics and economics from Stony Brook University.


James Rappuhn

Assistant Vice President, AIG

James Rappuhn is the Assistant Vice President of the AIG Wildfire Protection Unit where he oversees all aspects of the Wildfire Protection Unit.  He is responsible, in part, for providing expert knowledge on brush and wildfire matters, working closely with agents and brokers to find manageable, creative solutions to protect AIG policyholder’s homes, crew-member safety, enhancing procedures and guidelines to improve productivity, and ensuring safe, effective deployments to wildfires.

 James began his insurance-based career as a Wildfire Mitigation Specialist in early 2011.  He has advanced his career by promoting from a Mitigation Specialist to the Field Supervisor position in 2014. In that role he was responsible for assisting with the overall day-to-day operations of the program, as well as providing prevention, mitigation and fire response services for the AIG Private Client Group.

 Prior to joining AIG, James worked in the wildfire mitigation industry and spent over eight years as a professional firefighter. He holds numerous federal and state-recognized firefighting certificates.  His various roles in customer service and fire response have allowed him to develop a professional approach to risk evaluation, effective mitigation and wildfire safety.

William Schneider

Partner, Morrison Mahoney LLP

Bill focuses his practice on civil litigation and property insurance, with an emphasis on trial and appellate work in the state and federal courts. He has extensive coverage experience, including policy drafting, policy interpretation, and the general representation of insurance companies in a variety of matters across several lines of coverage. He regularly handles matters involving commercial property policies, homeowners policies, inland marine policies, crime policies, fidelity bonds, farm policies, equipment breakdown policies, boat and yacht policies, builders risk policies and pollution liability policies. Bill also represents insurers in arbitration, appraisal, reference and other non-judicial proceedings required by the policy or applicable law. He provides advice and counsel to insurers in the investigation and adjustment of complex first-party claims that involve fraud, valuation disputes and coverage issues. Bill also serves as settlement counsel in high exposure liability cases and has a great deal of experience defending insurers in bad faith and extracontractual liability claims. 


John Siegman

CRO & Founder, HazardHub

John has 30 years of experience playing with good and bad data. John’s career has focused on making better data and making better, more profitable, decisions with better data. John started at San Diego Gas & Electric as a market researcher and modeler, then moved onto Equifax National Decision Systems to focus on geodemographic and geofirmographic data and models. Fifteen plus years were spent in the geospatial realm – with an emphasis on spatial risk and taxation data - covering utilities, insurance, government and gas & oil for Pitney Bowes and CoreLogic. John holds a MBA from San Diego State University in Marketing & International Business and a Bachelor’s in Marketing & Transportation from the University of Maryland.

Shari Violas

Managing Principal, Private Client services, Integro

Shari Violas is Integro Insurance Brokers Managing Principal of Private Client Services. A 25 year executive specializing in private clients, Shari has extensive experience in all aspects of personal lines insurance. Her deep knowledge extends from the worldwide needs of clients in high profile professions such as entertainment and sports, to the specialized needs of high net worth families with trusts, estates and shell corporations. As Managing Principal, Shari has built a strong reputation as a leader in financial management, service management, staff and professional  development. Her responsibilities include Insurance Carrier Relations, New Business Development, and Executive Oversight of Projects. She sits on numerous insurance advisory boards, including AIG, Chubb, Safeco, and Travelers. Shari is also one of the founding members serving on the Advisory Board of the Council for Insuring Private Clients. Under Shari’s leadership, Los Angeles has been a key part of Integro’s remarkable growth. Prior to the acquisition with Integro, Shari was one of the founding members of Robertson Taylor’s Los Angeles office and acted as CEO from 2005 through 2012. Shari has been selected as a 2010/2011 Professional Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. The NAPW confers the Professional Woman of the Year annually to women who demonstrate outstanding leadership and commitment to their profession.



Bill Walton

Client Acquisition Specialist, Bill Walton Sales Training 

Bill Walton is a nationally known client acquisition specialist that works with insurance, wealth management and banking professionals to mean more to clients. He brings over 20 years of experience as a sales coach, facilitator and author to the client interaction.  Bill’s client work includes Chubb, Prudential, John Hancock, New York Life and Bank of America to name a few.  A frequent speaker at Wharton and the NYU School of Continuing Education, Bill helps insurance agents and brokers serve as trusted advisers to successful clients. Bill is an Amazon best-selling author and won the prestigious Quilly Award from the National Academy of Best-Selling Authors. He publishes the Value Creation Sales Blog and is a featured guest on CNN. Bill received a Master’s in Human Resource Education from Fordham University. Bill works and resides in Princeton, NJ.
